Jakarta, June 6, 2025 - The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) through the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) of the Baitut Thalibin Mosque (MBT), in 2025, carried out the Eid al-Fitr service with the theme "Kemendikdasmen Spreads Eid al-Fitr for the Nation."
The implementation of this sacrifice was carried out as part of the direction of the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, to make the Eid al-Adha moment an opportunity to strengthen solidarity, social concern, and exemplary behavior from government institutions towards the community, especially the educational community throughout Indonesia.
In its implementation, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education distributed a total of 108 sacrificial animals consisting of 82 cows with a total weight of more than 53.2 tons and 26 goats with a weight of 780 kg. The potential fresh meat produced was 15.7 tons which will be distributed to 25,000 mustahik distributed through DKM MBT and through the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Work Unit (satker) throughout Indonesia. The distribution process covers 35 provinces, from Aceh to Papua, with the main target being mustahiq around educational environments and communities in need (distribution data attached).
"This program is part of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education's social responsibility towards the community, as well as a form of support for national food security," said the Chair of the MBT DKM and Expert Staff to the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Mariman Darto, at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education office, Jakarta, Friday (6/6).
Mariman added, "Through an even distribution pattern across Indonesia, this program involves 21 central work units and 51 Technical Implementation Units in various regions. This is a concrete example of how qurbani can be an instrument for equitable distribution of benefits and strengthening solidarity among people."
In addition to providing direct assistance to the community, this year's Qurbani activities also reflect a spirit of exemplary behavior amidst the challenges and crises faced. As a ministry that upholds the vision of "Quality Education for All," the Ministry of Education and Culture is committed to not only providing educational services but also serving as a role model in fostering the values of humanity, caring, and mutual cooperation.
Through this Eid al-Adha momentum, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education hopes that the qurban program will strengthen the values of togetherness and the spirit of sharing, as a form of government concern in bringing blessings and goodness evenly throughout the country.
Deputy Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education: Sacrifice is a Test to Give the Best, Not What's Left
At the same time, Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Atip Latipulhayat, also led the Eid al-Adha 1446 H prayers at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Complex in Jakarta. Before employees, partners, and the surrounding community, the Deputy Minister delivered a sermon emphasizing the profound meaning of sacrifice as a form of supreme obedience to Allah SWT and the courage to sacrifice one's best for the common good.
Atip opened his sermon with the story of the Prophet Adam's two sons—Abel and Cain—which serve as an eternal lesson in sincerity and piety. In his sermon, he also emphasized the exemplary life of the Prophet Abraham's family—a spiritual narrative that captures the pinnacle of obedience, sincerity, and humanitarian vision.
"True sacrifice isn't just about slaughtering an animal. It's about having the courage to give what we love most because God commands it, and because others need it more," Atip explained in his sermon on Friday (June 6).
"Ibrahim wasn't asking for anything for himself. He was praying for his generation, for his people. Sacrifice is a reminder that our lives aren't just about today, but about the future we prepare for others," he concluded.
Closing his sermon, Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Atip Latipulhayat reminded everyone that life is a series of sacrifices. True sacrifice is giving the best we have—not what's left—because others may need it far more than we do. And each of us has been blessed by God with the resources to share.
Through the Eid al-Adha celebrations, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education emphasizes that education encompasses more than simply the transfer of knowledge; it is also a process of transforming values, such as sacrifice and caring, which form the basis for character formation in shaping a quality generation.
