Jakarta, September 5, 2025 - In a Working Meeting with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti, again presented the Work Plan and Budget (RKA) of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) for the 2026 fiscal year. Regarding this presentation, Minister Mu'ti appreciated the approval of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives towards the proposed RKA.

"Thank you and the highest appreciation to Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives for providing support for the proposed changes to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education's RKA for the 2026 fiscal year. Based on the vision of the President of the Republic of Indonesia for 2025-2029, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education outlines the vision in the Strategic Plan (Renstra) with the spirit of realizing Quality Education for All with the support of universal participation," said the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/9).

In her presentation, Minister Mu'ti also emphasized that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education fully supports the government's 2026 work theme, which includes five National Priority Programs. These include Accelerating 13-Year Compulsory Education, Improving the Quality of Teaching and Learning, Strengthening the Welfare, Quality, and Professionalism of Teachers and Education Personnel, Strengthening the Quality of Vocational Education, and Advancing Language and Literature.

"I believe that Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education agree on the importance of education. This is essential to ensuring that all Indonesian children have access to fair, high-quality, and relevant education, and to fostering a strong national identity based on the nation's noble values," said Minister Mu'ti.

Meanwhile, Merct Chiesty, a representative of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) faction, welcomed the RKA proposed by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. He, along with the entire PDIP faction, fully supports the Ministry's continued oversight of the School Digitalization program, particularly in the Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged (3T) regions.

"We appreciate the increase in the nominal amount for recipients of the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) at the elementary and junior high school levels. We also encourage the Ministry of Education and Culture to allocate funds for PIP at the early childhood education (PAUD) level. Overall, the PDIP faction has approved the Ministry of Education and Culture's Work Plan (RKA) for the 2026 fiscal year," said Merct.

Furthermore, Reni Astuti, a representative of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction, stated that the PKS faction welcomed and supported the RKA proposed by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. She and the PKS faction encouraged the Ministry to focus more on inclusive education.

"With this proposed RKA, the PKS faction hopes that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education will also pay attention to the welfare of educational staff, school guards, and other human resources in schools. Overall, the PKS faction approves the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education's RKA for the 2026 fiscal year," said Reni.

Closing the meeting, Deputy Chairperson of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Esti Wijayati, concluded that Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives approved the Budget Ceiling of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture in the 2026 Draft State Budget (RAPBN). In addition, Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives also approved additional proposals for the budget ceiling.

"Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives encourages the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to use the views, input, and notes of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the series of discussions on the Indicative Ceiling and Budget Ceiling of the 2026 Draft State Budget as a reference in the preparation of policies, programs, and activities of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in 2026," concluded Esti.
