Jakarta, November 30, 2025 - The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) affirmed its commitment to strengthening teacher competence, dedication, and exemplary behavior through the 2025 Teacher and Education Personnel (GTK) Appreciation Summit held in Jakarta on Thursday (November 27). This annual event serves as a platform to showcase the achievements of educators from across Indonesia, ranging from learning innovations and good practices to concrete contributions to improving the quality of education services.

The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti, emphasized that teachers are a strategic pillar in national education development. "Thank you to the teachers who provide educational services throughout Indonesia. Even though we have to traverse mountains, canyons, valleys, and rivers, you are still there to teach," he emphasized.

Minister Mu'ti explained that the 2025 GTK Appreciation is not just a ceremonial event, but a national movement to advance the quality of Indonesian education. She emphasized that teachers play a crucial role in developing character through the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children (7 KAIH), strengthening deep learning competencies, and mastering future skills such as coding and artificial intelligence . Furthermore, guidance and counseling skills and leadership skills in educational units are also mentioned as important foundations for school progress.

The 2025 Teachers and Teachers Appreciation (GTK) gathered thousands of works and innovations from various regions across Indonesia. The Director General of Teachers, Education Personnel, and Teacher Education (GTKPG), Nunuk Suryani, also expressed her appreciation for the enthusiasm and good practices displayed by the participants. "This year's GTK Appreciation was attended by 8,946 participants from 38 provinces. They came with innovation, dedication, and a real impact that enriched Indonesia's education ecosystem," explained Nunuk.

Nunuk added that the year-over-year increase in the number of participants and the quality of their work demonstrates the strengthening of a culture of reflection, collaboration, and continuous learning among teachers and teachers (GTK). All work will be compiled into a National Repository of Good Practices, a shared reference that can be replicated by educational institutions throughout Indonesia.

In this event, the Ministry of Education and Culture presented awards to teachers, principals, school supervisors, and education personnel in three main categories: 1) Transformative Teachers and Education Personnel; 2) Dedicated Teachers and Education Personnel; and 3) Pioneers of Learning Community Teachers and Education Personnel. The award recipients were provincial-level winners who then participated in a national selection process that included presentations, presentations, and interviews.

In addition to providing appreciation, the government continues to strengthen support for teachers by simplifying the allowance scheme, increasing the professional allowance for non-civil servant teachers, adding incentives for early childhood education (PAUD) and non-formal education educators, and expanding access to academic qualifications through 12,500 Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) scholarships. Teacher competency development is also being enhanced through in-depth learning programs, coding, intelligence, GEMBIRA Mathematics, and counseling.

The Ministry of Education and Culture is strengthening the digital transformation of education through the Learning Digitalization Program, which has reached 288,865 schools. More than 173,000 Digital Interactive Boards (DIBs) have been used as interactive learning media, helping teachers deliver more engaging and meaningful learning experiences.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education reiterates that improving teacher quality is the primary foundation for realizing Quality Education for All.
