Jakarta, April 7, 2026 - The first day of the Junior High School Academic Ability Test (TKA) proceeded smoothly and under control. The high level of enthusiasm from schools, students, and parents is a positive sign that the digital transformation in educational evaluation is increasingly understood, accepted, and implemented collaboratively. According to preliminary data, 1,899,878 participants took the TKA on the first day, spread across various educational institutions across Indonesia.

"We are grateful that the first day of the TKA program went well. This is the result of collaborative efforts by many parties, including schools, teachers, supervisors, and technical teams at the central and regional levels," said Toni Toharudin, Head of the Elementary and Secondary Education Policy Agency, in Jakarta on Tuesday (April 7).

The first day of the TKA implementation began simultaneously at 7:00 a.m. WIB and lasted until 3:30 p.m. WIB and was divided into four sessions. The first session was attended by 700,532 participants, the second session by 675,330 participants, the third session by 419,391 participants, and the final session by 104,625 participants. The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) had previously provided a variety of implementation session options that could be adjusted to the conditions of each school. With a more equitable time arrangement, it is hoped that all students can take the assessment with a sense of security, comfort, and confidence.

"For participants who are unable to participate in the current TKA, especially due to the impact of disasters or other force majeure conditions, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is providing an opportunity to participate in a follow-up TKA scheduled for May 2025, so that all participants still have the same rights to participate in the assessment," explained Toni.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education also expressed its appreciation to all parties, from local governments and educational institutions to parents and students, for their support and active participation in ensuring the success of the first day of the TKA program. The success of the program is determined not only by the readiness of the central system but also by the regulatory strategy at the educational institution level. Collaboration is key to ensuring the successful implementation of the TKA program.
