Jakarta, April 8, 2026 – The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), through the Center for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin), officially launched the 2026 Bug Bounty Program on Monday (April 6). This annual cybersecurity vulnerability discovery event is entering its fifth year with the theme "Build Cyber Resilience."

The program is part of the Ministry of Education and Culture's commitment to strengthening digital system security in the national education sector. The initiative also implements Secretary General Regulation Number 11 of 2022 concerning the Information Security Management System (SMKI) within the framework of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology's Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE). Through the 2026 Bug Bounty , Pusdatin encourages educators to become not only users but also part of the solution to information security challenges. The competition is open to four categories of participants: high school/vocational school/Islamic high school students (minimum age 17), university students, teachers, and lecturers.

The Head of the Center for Data and Information Technology, Wibowo Mukti, emphasized that the program is designed as a safe space ( sandbox ) for participants to explore security testing techniques without impacting the Ministry of Education and Culture's services. " The Bug Bounty Program can be a bridge to transform a passion for cybersecurity into a proud achievement," Wibowo said.

Participant registration is open from April 6–30, 2026, through the Aman Bersama platform at https://amanbersama.kemendikdasmen.go.id, followed by a testing phase from May 1–22, 2026. Assessment is conducted in two stages. In the first stage, the technical aspect has a weighting of 70 percent with reference to the CVSS v3.1 standard, while the reporting aspect has a weighting of 30 percent. In the second stage, five finalists from each category will participate in an interview with the assessment composition including testing techniques (60 percent), communication (20 percent), and originality (20 percent). The series of activities will conclude with the 2026 Bug Bounty Award on June 19, 2026.

Wibowo also invited all educators interested in cybersecurity to participate in the 2026 Bug Bounty event. He also conveyed the importance of collaboration in facing increasingly complex cyber threats. Wibowo highlighted the increase in ransomware and phishing attacks based on artificial intelligence (AI) throughout 2025.
