The Ministry of Education and Culture has allocated Rp61.1 trillion to achieve quality education for all by 2027.

Jakarta, August 15, 2026 – In a press conference on the Draft State Budget (RAPBN) and Financial Note for the 2027 Fiscal Year held in Jakarta, Friday (14/8), Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Wamendikdasmen) Atip Latipulhayat explained the direction of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) budget policy for 2027.

On that occasion, Deputy Minister Atip explained that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has prepared a budget of IDR 61.1 trillion in the 2027 fiscal year. This budget support will be directed to strengthening the National Priority Work Program in the field of primary and secondary education, while accelerating equal access and improving the quality of educational services for all Indonesian children.

One of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education's main focuses is strengthening the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure through Educational Unit Revitalization. This program is part of President Prabowo Subianto's school revitalization policy and is implemented independently by the beneficiary educational units.

In addition to revitalization, the Ministry of Education and Culture continues to promote expanded access to education through initiatives aimed at providing free, at least compulsory, primary education. Support for students is also strengthened through school supplies and the development of Integrated National Schools (SNT).

Learning transformation is also a focus through the Digitalization of Learning program. This program aims to encourage the use of technology in the learning process while expanding student and educator access to quality learning resources.

"We also pay significant attention to teacher welfare. In 2027, funds were allocated to improve the welfare of non-civil servant teachers, as more teachers, both in public and private schools, obtain teacher certification," he added.

Support for students is also continuously strengthened through the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP). This program aims to provide educational support to approximately 18 million students based on data that serves as a basis for beneficiary identification. Furthermore, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education will develop Teacher Studios as part of strengthening the learning ecosystem and increasing educator capacity.

Beyond the National Priority Work Program, the Ministry of Education and Culture will also continue implementing various priority programs to achieve Quality Education for All. These programs include the Secondary Education Affirmation Program (ADEM) for students from affirmative regions and children of Indonesian migrant workers.

The Ministry of Education and Culture also provides educational assistance to high-achieving students and scholarships for teachers to obtain a bachelor's or diploma four (D4) degree. Efforts to improve teacher quality are also strengthened through the implementation of Teacher Professional Education (PPG) and competency development in the fields of STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics ), Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA), In-Depth Learning, and Digitalization of Learning.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Education and Culture provides support for the provision of education for Indonesian Schools Abroad (SILN) and improves the quality of vocational education. Strengthening vocational education includes enhancing skills and mastering new, industry-standard skills for educators and education personnel.

To strengthen character and develop student potential, the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education will also continue the Character Education program and develop student talents, abilities, and achievements. The implementation of the Academic Ability Test (TKA) is also a key part of the 2027 education agenda, including the TKA for high school students, which is entering its second year.

In addition, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education will continue to implement accreditation of educational units and improve and guarantee the quality of education to ensure that each educational unit is able to provide quality learning services.

"These various programs demonstrate the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education's commitment to providing quality education for all. Through the budget support provided, we will continue to expand access, improve the quality of educational services, strengthen teacher welfare, and ensure that every student has the opportunity to develop according to their potential and talents," concluded Deputy Minister Atip.*** (Author: Destian/Documentation: Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Team)
