Strengthening Character Education
Strengthening Character Education (PPK) is a national educational movement aimed at shaping students' character into individuals with good thoughts, hearts, and behavior, in accordance with Pancasila and the noble values of the Indonesian nation. This movement aims to harmonize students' intellectual (thinking), emotional (feeling), ethical (heart), and physical (sports) development through collaboration between schools, families, and the community, with teachers playing a crucial role as role models and facilitators.
Strengthening Character Education has several programs, namely:
- The 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children (7 KAIH) Movement
The 7 KAIH Movement includes: Waking Up Early, Worshipping, Exercising, Enjoying Learning, Eating Healthy and Nutritious Foods, Being Active in the Community, and Going to Bed Early. Each habit is designed not only to build physical health, but also to foster mental resilience, discipline, and social awareness in Indonesian children. This movement aims to strengthen the nation's core character and support the achievement of the eight dimensions of the graduate profile through a participatory movement involving all stakeholders and the four centers of education.
- Cheerful Morning Meeting
The success of the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children Movement is reflected not only in the enthusiasm of schools and various good practices in the regions, but also in the creation of concrete, easily implemented derivative programs in students' daily lives. One concrete example of this movement's implementation is the Happy Morning Meeting (PPC). Through PPC, schools not only teach good habits but also provide a shared space to build discipline, a spirit of togetherness, and a love of country from the start of the day.
Before learning begins, schools implementing PPC start the day with three main activities:
1. Great Indonesian Children's Gymnastics at least twice a week, so that students are enthusiastic, healthy, and ready to learn with positive energy.
2. Singing the song Indonesia Raya, a symbol of pride and a real manifestation of nationalism that strengthens unity among students.
3. Praying together according to each person's beliefs, which fosters a sense of gratitude, asks for smooth learning, and at the same time strengthens tolerance.
The Happy Morning Meeting (PPC) is a concrete manifestation of the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children Movement. Its goal is to instill in students the habit of starting the day with a positive spirit, discipline, and a love for their country. Through Great Indonesian Children's Gymnastics, singing Indonesia Raya, and praying together, the PPC helps foster health, togetherness, gratitude, and unity from the start of the day, so that students are better prepared to learn and develop into outstanding individuals.
- Great Indonesian Children's Gymnastics
The success of the Cheerful Morning Meeting is inextricably linked to the role of physical activity in driving enthusiasm for learning. Therefore, the Great Indonesian Children's Gymnastics (SAIH) has become a crucial element that continues to be strengthened. Through simple, fun, and collaborative movements, SAIH not only promotes physical health but also instills discipline, teamwork, and positive energy in students.
The Great Indonesian Children's Gymnastics (SAIH) aims to get students used to physical activities that are both healthy and refreshing. Through simple and enjoyable movements, SAIH fosters a passion for learning, instills discipline, and strengthens teamwork. This way, students can start the day with positive energy, bolstering their readiness for learning and school activities.
